Why
Do I Feel?
Once I
was asked, "Why do I feel this way or that
way,
for someone, or something?"
When I thought about it I first had to ask myself;
Why does a bird soar in the night gone sky,?
Why do the clouds billow and pillow all around?
Why does the morning gold flow from a crack
in the horizontal in front of me?
Why does the stored rain fall to the ground
and mix and pool and trickle down
my cheek, chin and window pain,?
Why does the surface water mirror the world
above it
and blanket a universe below it?
Why do I feel? Once more I asked myself;
Why does a babe laugh and cry,
why
does a child need to know,
why does a youth know so much pain,
why does the aged pain so much to know,
why does life grow so much only to die,
yet fight so hard to grow,
why does mankind share,
care and dare to love so much
just to get less than they gave?
Why do I feel? I need not ask anymore.
It's energy in motion, E=mc2.
That's it, my notion, that feeling is emotion.
This is why I feel, because I can.
