Close Your Eyes

(Note: For full effect I ask that when you read this
poem you give the following instructions to
anyone who is listening: for them to close their
eyes when they hear the word 'close' and to
open
their eyes when they hear the word 'open'.
Thank
You. wrm)
Close your eyes and tell me what you see.
An after image that fades quickly you can't see.
An image just before the lids go low.
Open them quickly to see, to know.
Close your eyes again and tell me what you
see.
To say you have sight does it mean you see?
To see is to know all far and near.
You close your eyes and feel cold, alone and
fear.
Open
What of the blind that can't see.
Yet they still love you, even me.
But trapped, can they see?
They are what we aren't,....free.
They have insight where there are no lies.
Where the eyes chance never to see.
Where in us all true colour lies.
Where darkness is, brightness they see.
Close your eyes and tell me what you see.
Does my skin have a colour or a body fit to a
tee.
To be blind is to truly see the real you, the real
me..
Open your eyes by closing them and maybe
you'll
see.
